I was born to decorate a party! I've always had a very creative side to me. I believe I really tapped into my creativity when I became a teen mother. Fresh out of high school, wanting to give my son a fabulous birthday party on a very small budget allowed me to use what I had on hand which was balloons, tape, scissors and card stock! I would pick a theme and my mind would just take off from there. Year after year I found myself decorating annual Christmas parties, birthday parties, baby showers and the list goes on.
I created Passionate Event Designs with unique elements in mind, a heart for design and styling, expressed passion, and special love of my clients. While working 11 years at Community Action Council, I developed a hobby in DIY activities and party decor, which also allowed me to use my creativity, ingenuity, originality, and thinking outside the box. In 2016, drawn by a desire to create unforgettable events and weddings along with perfect personal expressions, I founded Passionate Event Designs.
Amira and I have been friends since high school. We've always shared the same interest in pretty things including decor. Bringing her along this journey with me was only natural. She has so many attributes that she brings to the design. Her perspective on decor and styling allows me to see design concepts from another angle.
When I first thought about turning this dream into a thriving business I had no clue where to start or how to start, all I know is that I HAD to start. I gathered all my thoughts, ideas and wrote them down on paper. From there I started to map out how to accomplish my first goal. Once I achieved the first goal, I would set another goal, then another. I call this the Elephant Method, eating my goals bit by bit. Of course, there were days I felt so defeated as if I hadn't accomplished anything. But, then I realized those were all LIES.....BIG FAT LIES. I started celebrating the small wins that eventually became big wins. Design and style is what I love the most. That very same passion goes into each and every event. I know my clients are looking for an experience and I want our clients to experience their event for themselves. No detail goes unnoticed, my eyes were made for small details!!!!
